Family Reunion & Cedar Point

We had so much fun at our first Plothow family reunion. We flew into Chicago and drove down to Peru Indiana, where Dani and I were born. There isn't a whole lot to to in Indiana, except eat, and they have some of the best food around. The first place we headed was B&K for spanish hot dogs and rootbeer. We went there as soon as we got to Peru, and then the next morning as soon as they opened, what can I say they are delicious and the main reason to make a pit stop in Peru. While in Peru we also stopped at my dad's cousins Maryann and Marty's house, where the kids got to play and blow off some steam and see and catch their first fire flys. Then we headed to Logansport for more food, Bruno's pizza and more B&K rootbeer. We ended up stopping at a park to eat (the parks in Indiana a amazing and beautiful!).
Monday morning we headed to Fort Wayne, where we lived for a few years, and went to the Fronke Park Children's Zoo. Its a great zoo (one of the top 10 best in the country), but they were having some huge event there and it was packed. After that we headed off the Pokagon State park for our family reunion. It was at a beautiful resort on Lake James. We spent two nights there, where we played lots of games, roasted hotdogs and marshmallows, and played in the lake. It was so much fun and great to see so many cousins that we don't get to see often.
Wednesday afternoon we drove to Sandusky, Ohio and met up with some other cousins, Curtis and his two kids Trevor and Meghan. We went to dinner and ice cream with them that night. The next morning we went with them to Cedar Point, the roller coaster capital of the world. Unfortunately it was raining, so a lot of the big rides were shut down, but all the kiddie rides were up and working, so we took the kids on those. The rain let up for a little while and allowed us to ride a few of the roller coasters. Right before we were about to leave we were waiting in line for our last ride and a HUGE thunderstorm came in and it started pouring. We had already stashed our rain gear and ended up getting drenched while trying to run back to out car. It was a lot of fun and we all want to go back when the kids are tall enough to ride on the big coasters.
The next morning we flew back to Salt Lake. We had a great time, and are looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Who's bakin' brownies?

A few days ago Karter helped me make some brownies. He helped to pour in the ingredients and held the mixer. But his absolute favorite part (and mine too) was licking the bowl! He licked up every last drop, even the little smudges on his legs.
